Discernment: Seeking God
Published: 12-29-2025
Jeremiah 29:11–13 shows God’s heart and our responsibility. The Lord declares His thoughts of peace and an expected end. Then He gives the path forward. “Then shall ye call upon me… and ye shall seek me… when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” Discernment grows in the soil of pursuit. God speaks, but a shut heart and a scattered mind keep the signal cloudy.
Picture an old radio dial. A small turn can clear the station. Seeking does that for the soul. Seeking is intentional pursuit of God Himself. Seeking goes after His will. Seeking stays in prayer until the heart settles and the mind lines up. God is not a drive-through. He is a Shepherd. He leads with voice and truth, and He confirms His direction through His Word.
This message presses two truths into place. Seek to respond responsibly through prayer, not by emotional reaction under pressure. Seek with depth, not with shallow habits. A divided heart produces diluted discernment. A hungry heart gets clarity. When a believer learns to hear God louder than every other voice, offense loses its grip, distractions lose their pull, and obedience becomes the next step.
Listen below and seek Him with all your heart.
Preached by Pastor Gary Caudill from the pulpit of Washington Heights Baptist Church of Thomson GA on 12-28-2025 during our Sunday Evening worship service.
