Rediscover the Power of Repentance: It's Not Too Late for Renewal
Deut 30:8-9 And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day. And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:
It's not too late to start over! After the Lord had proclaimed the curses that would befall Israel should they have chosen to doubt and disobey His commandments, He inserted what I would like to call "The Grace Clause"! Basically, God said, "If you find yourself in sin, under the curse, you can turn the tide by turning back to me!"
Can I say this? It's not too late for America! I know that "we've come a long way baby!" BUT, in spite of all we have done in forsaking the God of our forefathers as a nation, even as Israel had a "Grace Clause", so we as a nation can turn back to God, and He will lift the curse! Let's not forget that 2 Chronicles 7:14 is still in the Bible! "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." The key word to this verse is "if MY people". Aren't you glad to know that God's not waiting for the heathen to repent! He's not laying the future of America on the shoulders of the lost masses who do not even acknowledge Him! Children of God, the ball is in our court! If WE, the people of God, will repent of OUR wicked ways, then WE, with God's help, can turn the tide in America for the glory of God!
Now, I understand that it is our responsibility as the children of God to get politically involved...we must fight the evil trends of our culture and government on all fronts. However, the most important and significant front that we are fighting is at the House of God! We MUST get back to serving God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength! We MUST stop the religious games we so enjoy playing, put away our toys, and pull out "the big guns", faith, hope, and charity!! Let's get REAL with God, and He will get real with us!!
